2010, The year that was …

Well another year is coming to an end, it’s finishing just as it started. Activity is high and the industry as a whole is in good shape.

The year has brought many changes, some more exciting than others, some more accepted than others, but overall the year has shown that our industry is solid and the future is looking good. This has been demonstrated by many hardware and machinery suppliers opening purpose built production and distribution facilities that include dedicated showroom and demonstration areas.

At Planit we’ve seen some new initiatives throughout the year, with ‘Next Step Seminars’, the introduction of local monthly Webinars and some ‘hot of the press’ improvements to our Support program. The Inaugural “Dave Hughes” Innovation award presented by the Victorian CMA in conjunction with Planit was awarded to Gary Slade and the team at Madco. These guys are leading the way for the future of our industry.

Our team has grown here at Planit with several new people joining our team. During this year we welcomed Cameron Bentley, Kris Schofield, Justin Gradon, Tony Vella and Alexi Trasler. Our plans include some more in the new year as well.

We introduced a Customer Service Representative (CSR) role recently to allow us to be proactive in serving our customers. If you haven’t already had a call from Alexi, you’ll be sure to get one soon. She will be contacting all our customers just to ensure everything is going well and to see where and how we can ‘SERVE’ you better.

I’ve been very excited to see all the hard work that is being done by everyone behind the scenes to introduce new programs, new initiatives and new enthusiasm. You’ll start to see the fruits of this work very soon. Keep your eyes out for the new announcements, starting with the launch of a new Customer Care program early in the new year.

Of course, along with our Sydney and Melbourne teams, we have continued to enjoy working with Datapro (WA), Internetit (QLD) and JoineryIT (NZ). Without the hard work put in by these guys, we just wouldn’t be complete. Later in the Newsletter you can read all about what’s been happening for them.

Cabinet Vision has strengthened itself as an all purpose tool for every type of business. With enhanced drawing tools, new automated cabinet control (constraints and parametrics) and S2M leading the way for computer aided manufacturing CAM. With the change to 2 releases per year, it’s never been easier for you to be using the latest in software technology in your business.

From myself and all the Team here at Planit, we thank you for your loyalty and wish you a safe and Happy Christmas and look forward to SERVING you again next year.
