Impala looks for ongoing success
Impala is one of the best known companies in the kitchen cabinet market. It employs a team of awardwinning designers to create unique kitchens for private domestic clients.
All the company’s kitchens are custom built and crafted without modular or standard size cabinets, and Planit software is a key factor in its ongoing success.
Using Planit software and CNC technology at its factory, Impala has garnered a reputation, in its 30 years of business, for accuracy and premium quality workmanship.
Mr. Brad Skerke, Senior Technical Detailer at Impala’s Bayswater (Melbourne) studio, said Planit software had been the company’s “major tool” for designing and manufacturing kitchen fittings for the last seven years.
The software’s user-friendly interface made it an ideal marketing tool for Impala’s clients, he added. “We use Planit to produce plans for our customers’ perusal and our designers find it very effective as a marketing tool.
“Once we’ve created those initial plans we pass them to the customers for approval, then we use Planit to create working plans. “The software is also very effective for
creating CNC data for the purposes of optimisation.”
Furthermore, Planit’s strengths and features included its ability to integrate all processes from initial design to cut, as well as its flexibility and versatility.
“The software is sufficiently sophisticated to allow us to mould it to our particular requirements. It’s also great in terms of getting the most out of the materials.”
“I would say Planit has been a major factor in Impala’s success. Seven years ago we were able to produce eight to 10 kitchens a week.
“Now, using Planit, we are turning out around 16 to 20 kitchens a week; and these are not just “cookie-cut” kitchens that are all the same, they’re individual, custom-designed and manufactured products.”
Another attractive feature of Planit’s offer was its quick response service, he said.
“I’ve always found the guys at Planit pretty easy to get on with. Sometimes they are extremely busy, but they usually respond to our queries within a short time frame and the results are always positive.”
