Adding an edge profile to a counter top in Cabnetware

If you need to apply a decorative edge to a countertop in the Cabnetware program, here is one way.

First, lay out the cabinet layout to get a countertop designed automatically. This example is an Island with wainscot paneling around the backside.

Next, go to the counter top view and adjust the overhangs to a consistent value. In this case use 1 inch.

Next, design a molding that has the profile you desire. Set the front offset to the value of the countertop overhang you previously modified.

Now, view an elevation of the Island cabinets and choose View – Pick User Graphics – Moldings and select Cabinet, then the desired molding. Adjust the reference values and OK. Click on each cabinet to apply the molding.

Finally, view the Render.
