Kicking off at 6pm at the Marbut Postforming plant in Cambellfield, Victoria.
Marbut had approximately 12 staff available on the night to look after everybody, with around 50 guests with representatives from companies including
Yarra Valley Cabinet Makers
Creative Style Cabinetry
Gellibrand Cabinet Works
Markaren Cabinet Makers
Nicoloson & Burke
Kitchens by Peter Gill
Was nice to see so many Planit customers and be able to catch up with how everyone’s year has been going.
Tours of Marbut’s Post forming Plant was conducted in groups of 10 which was then followed by the AGM meeting with speakers from both RMIT & Kangan Institute on the changes to the Apprenticeship Training & Education.
This included training students on Flat Panel Cabinetmaking, including design, manufacture & installation.
It also means that there will be 13 Tafe Colleges in Victoria looking to have drawing software & machinery implemented & integrated for them to teach their students with.
Leigh Swalling, who attended from Planit, commented on how nice it was to see a company like Marbut who has been trading for well over 100 years, continually reinventing themselves to keep up with the ever changing market.
Demand for Postformed Tops has dropped dramatically as the market is demanding Caesar Stone, Granite etc, so Marbut has unveiled a new state of the art, Marbut Stone factory which showcased a Biesse stone machine.
