Hi %%First Name%%,
Welcome to this month's Newsletter. It is hard to believe how quickly this year has gone, with this being the last newsletter for 2014.

Review of 2014
Well as the year 2014 comes to a close, we’ve seen a lot of activity crammed into 12 months. This year started with celebrations for the 30 year anniversary for us as a company - an honour we are certainly all proud of.
The early months saw us take over Western Australia with John Hayter enjoying a well-earned retirement. Alan Gibson continues to serve the WA market well and blended into our national team. Throughout the year we’ve taken our training courses to the regional centres with some fundamental and specialised courses showing their popularity. Their success has encouraged us to continue them for next year. The last six months of the year - especially since the AWISA show in Brisbane or perhaps since the NSW blues won the ‘State of Origin”, have been a very busy time. All our customers and industry partners have expressed the same thing. It is good to see this level of activity come back into the market, something we haven’t seen for a while.
2014 has seen Planit strengthen its activity with various industry associations. We have increased our commitment with AWISA, continued to support the CMDA Vic, re-established our relationship with the CMA WA, joined in with ASOFIA across all states and partnered with the HIA SA. 2014 also gave us the opportunity to show our commitment to the newly formed FCJA and the Meta hub program. It has been great to be involved in these associations and support the work of local businesses in our industry. If you're not a member of an industry association, then I recommend you joining one as they are really worth considering.
The stand out event for the year had to be the AWISA show in Brisbane - a bold move brought on by the re-development of the Sydney site. Everyone that I’ve spoken to agreed that it was a tremendous success. The new Vortek system and the “bowling” theme were a standout feature. Make sure you put July 2016 into your diaries, with the next show scheduled to be held in Melbourne.
In doing something different this year, Planit have finished the year with participation in 2 association Golf days. From what I saw it’s a good thing we are good with software, because the golf was very average. I guess we’ll just have to keep supporting these events until we get it right!
Using the saying “Good things come to those who wait” we have progressed through the version 9 Beta program and are currently in the middle of Release Candidate. What we are seeing is very impressive and I know that Planit are committed to releasing the best products for our industry.
We have to thank all our valued customer for their loyal support to both us and the industry, and look forward to sharing all that 2015 brings.

CMA WA - Planit Golf Day a great success
A strong turnout of 120 participants took part in this year’s CMA WA – Planit Golf Day, which was held at the Wembley Golf Course on Friday 7th November. Perth’s weather once again delivered and covered the golf course with sunshine. This year’s event was supported by major sponsor Planit Cutting Edge Solutions, and silver sponsors included Woodworking Machinery Services & Apollo Risk Services.
A new inclusion for this year’s event was raising money for the Variety Children’s Charity. With Souvenir Golf Day Polo shirts being sold as well as donations taken throughout the day, a total of $480 was raised for the charity. Part of the fundraising was the display of Car 44 from the 2014 Trans Australia Bash WA. The car belongs to CMA WA member, Sam Cirillo from Kenwick Cabinet Works, and provided an interesting point of conversation during the day.
After lunch and a briefing from the course marshall, the 30 teams made their way to their starting hole as part of the Ambrose format. Utilising Wembley’s new ‘Tuart’ Course, players enjoyed the great facilities and were able to enjoy a relaxed day away from the factory. With a variety of skill levels on show, everyone had a good laugh watching selected teams constantly trying to find their golf balls in the scrub, as well as admiring the skills of the more regular players.
Eric Lytton, Executive Director for the CMA WA, commented that “many of the cabinet makers and suppliers came up to let me know how much they enjoyed the day. This year’s golf day was certainly one of the best day’s we’ve had”.
His comments were supported by Alan Gibson (Western Australia Territory Manager for Planit), who commented “It was a great day. Great for Planit to show our support for the cabinet making industry, as well as catching up with everyone”.
The day concluded with a Social Drinks and Dinner, with the opportunity to network and socialise with others in the industry. Last year’s winners, Kitchen Craftsmen, had to settle for 2nd place with Anthony Johns Cabinets taking out first place. STD Kitchens claimed 3rd place whilst Lincoln Sentry took out the infamous NAGA prize (last place).
Planit would like to thank everyone that came along to the Golf Day and supported the CMA WA. Make sure you check out our highlights video by clicking here

NSW ASOFIA Golf Day and Christmas Dinner
Planit was able to continue its Industry Association involvement by being part of the NSW ASOFIA Golf Day and Christmas Dinner late last month. The conditions were great for a round of Golf, and the Castle Hill Country Club certainly was an amazing course. A strong turnout of players attended, and it was great to see some familiar faces, whilst meeting some new ones as well.
Planit sponsored the Drinks Cart that made its way around the course, providing much needed cool drinks and food to the players. Back at the clubhouse, we had plenty of players saying how much they loved having the cart come round with refreshments. On the Golfing front, unfortunately Planit didn't quite place overall, but we certainly had fun trying.
In the evening, the association held their annual Christmas dinner to end another great year. It was great for us to be able to network with companies in attendance and get to know more of the people involved with the association. One of the highlights of the night was having Paul Wade, former Socceroos player, share about his career as well as his thoughts on the current outlook of soccer in Australia. Paul's humour certainly had everyone laughing and it was great to hear his soccer insights.
It was a good way to finish a great year for the NSW ASOFIA and we look forward to attending 2015's event.
