Error 17 is typically an issue with Windows not starting Microsoft SQL after a restart or a Windows update. If this happens to you, you can easily rectify this by doing the following.

1. Open Task Manager by pressing Control – Shift – Escape at the same time on your keyboard, the following screen should appear.
2. Then you can select Services – and then press on Open Services
3. This should open our final screen, where we can search for SQL Server (SOLID) – right click on that and press start.
There is another cause of Error 17, and this is due to changing your computer name, if this happens, it is best to email our HelpDesk Team: firstname.lastname@example.org
